Iraqi ambassador visits Swinburne

Swinburne hosted a visit from the Iraqi Ambassador, His Excellency Mr Mouayed Saleh as part of the universitiy’s commitment to strengthen international linkages in teaching and research.

The Ambassador met with Swinburne senior management to discuss collaboration with Iraqi higher education institutions as well as placements of Iraqi government scholarship holders at Swinburne.

Under discussion are issues relating to Masters and PhD programs, postdoctoral fellowships, joint research programs and joint supervision for doctoral students.

A number of Swinburne staff were in attendance including deputy vice-chancellor (academic) Shirley Leitch, director Swinburne International and National Recruitment Ben MacKenzie, Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Sciences dean John Beynon, assosicate dean Ajay Kapoor, deputy dean John Wilson and Professor Riadh Al-Mahaidi.

Preceding this meeting, the Iraqi Cultural Attache His Excellency Professor Fadhil Farhood Al Joborae visited Swinburne and met with senior university staff.
