Experience the Universe in 3D
Date posted: Monday 18 Jan 2010
For those seeking a holiday destination to remember, why not try outer space?
This week Swinburne University is giving you a chance to explore the Universe through a public AstroTour. Guided by Director of the Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing Professor Matthew Bailes, the tour will let you travel the Universe in 3D.
Suitable for adults and children over seven years of age, Swinburne’s AstroTour will entertain and educate visitors about the mysteries behind the night sky.
The show will feature the 3D movies Bigger Than Big and Extreme Places, made by our highly talented Swinburne Spaceworks team.
Bigger than Big will take you on a journey from the Moon's surface to the far reaches of the visible Universe. You will experience objects that fascinate astronomers, from an astronaut's footprint to the galaxy clusters that form the most gigantic structures known.
Extreme Places will allow you to explore environments from the viewpoint of past and future space missions.
