Date posted: Wednesday 9 Dec 2009

The latest edition of the Swinburne magazine is now available. You can pick up a copy in The Australian newspaper today, 9 December.

This quarterly national magazine provides a glimpse of the exciting, high quality research being undertaken at Swinburne. It also shows how a modern university like Swinburne can build excellence through partnerships with industry, community, research organisations and government.

The feature article for this edition, ‘Learning for all’, describes how Swinburne’s equity-driven approach to higher education is backed by initiatives to engage with people who have been marginalised.

Other articles in this edition include:

  • Cars that ‘think’ may help drivers who don’t
  • Profit forecast to fire up landfill gas
  • Bid to keep aluminium shining
  • Internet journalism ‘pens’ the death of an empire
  • It’s eat or be eaten in our cosmic jungle
  • Alzheimer hope in ancient medical memories
