Melbourne Mini Maker Faire 2012
Date posted: Tuesday 17 Jan 2012
Swinburne University of Technology was proud to host the first Australian Mini Maker Faire at our Hawthorn campus. On Saturday 14 January more than 1000 visitors attended the Faire to see some of Australia’s finest amateur “makers”.
This family-fun event was bustling with excitement as the crowds came to see the range of inventive “makers” from both local and international communities. Demonstrations and displays featured sustainable gardens to dynamic robots. Even Swinburne’s very own Ruby the Robot was featured at the fair for having been the only two-armed robot to beat the world record, solving the Rubik’s cube in 10 seconds.
