Professor Linda Kristjanson
Vice-Chancellor
Professor Linda Kristjanson was appointed Vice-Chancellor in May 2011.
As Vice-Chancellor Linda undertakes the general management of the university and represents Swinburne at national and international forums.
Linda has an extensive research career in pallative care and was formerly the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Development at Curtin University.

Vice-President (Student & Corporate Services)
Stephen Beall has been the Vice-President (Student & Corporate Services) since 2007. He has held various positions within the university since 1996.
Stephen is responsible for all aspects of the university’s resources management as well as services that support university operations and student services.

Ms Linda Brown
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (TAFE)
Linda Brown was appointed to the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (TAFE) in 2009.
As a dual sector institution, Linda is responsible for delivery of Swinburne's high-quality VET programs through our TAFE arm.
Linda has extensive experience in the education and business sectors, previously holding the position of Director at one of the country’s largest institutes, Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE (MSIT) and as CEO of corporations in Australia and overseas.

Professor Shirley Leitch
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic)
Professor Shirley Leitch was appointed to the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) in 2010.
The DVC Academic is responsible for the quality and delivery of higher education to Swinburne students.
Shirley has held executive roles at the University of Wollongong and the University of Waikato in New Zealand. She also has extensive experience in senior advisory roles in government and industry.
Professor Helmut Lueckenhausen
Pro Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Sarawak campus
Professor Helmut Lueckenhausen has been PVC and Chief Executive of Swinburne Sarawak since 2007. He is responsible for the general management of the Sarawak campus.
Helmut has served on many national and international boards and committees, including the International Craft Design Association, the Design Institute of Australia, Craft Australia, and committees of the Australia Council.
Professor Gilly Salmon
Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning Transformations)
Professor Gilly Salmon commenced her appointment as Pro Vice-Chancellor, Learning Transformations in January 2012.
Professor Salmon is one of the world’s leading thinkers in online learning. She is internationally renowned for her significant contributions to online education, including research, innovation, program design, teaching methods and the use of new technologies.
Professor Salmon is responsible for driving innovation and change in higher education, to further the development and delivery of high quality online and digitally-enhanced learning at Swinburne.
Professor Min Gu
Pro Vice-Chancellor (International Research Collaboration)
Professor Min Gu was appointed to the new position of Pro Vice-Chancellor (IRC) in June 2009.
He is responsible for establishing international research linkages with funding bodies, industry and research institutions.
Min has an Australian Laureate Fellowship from the Australian Research Council. He is an elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, and the Australian Institute of Physics. He is also a Chang Jiang Chair Professor and a National Chair Expert Professor of the Ministry for Eduction (China).
Professor Matthew Bailes
Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research)
Professor Matthew Bailes is an internationally-renowned leader in the discovery and timing of exotic objects known as millisecond pulsars.
In 2011 his collaboration announced the discovery of the "Diamond Planet" in Science that immediately gained world-wide attention. He is interested in the role of the media in science communication and the way it reports on climate change.
He founded the Swinburne Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing and is now the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) at Swinburne University of Technology.
Professor Michael Gilding
Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Quality)
Michael Gilding is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Quality), with responsibility for Swinburne's submission in the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) process.
Michael is also Associate Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Life and Social Sciences, and Professor of Sociology at the Swinburne Institute for Social Research.
Michael's current research include studies of biotechnology networks and clusters (in collaboration with AusBiotech), family business inheritance (in collaboration with Pitcher Partners), and innovation in the biosciences (in collaboration with the Future Manufacturing Flagship at CSIRO).
Mr Bryan Rossi
Chief Financial Officer
Bryan Rossi was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2010. He is responsible for managing the financial operations of the university.
Bryan has worked in financial management roles in the university sector for more than 30 years.
Bryan is a CPA, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mr Jeffrey Smart
Vice-President (International & Development)
Jeffrey Smart was appointed Pro Vice-Chancellor (International & Recruitment) in 2008 and became Vice-President (International & Development) in June 2011.
He is responsible for the university's external engagement activities, including planning and management of international operations and global development, student recruitment and marketing, media and communications, and alumni and development.
Jeffrey has worked in domestic and international marketing and recruitment for over 18 years. In 2008 he was the Chair of the Victorian International Directors' Committee.
