Ms Louise Palmer

Louise PalmerLouise Palmer was appointed to the role of Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Director TAFE at Swinburne in June 2008. Swinburne TAFE is one of Victoria’s largest providers of vocational education and training, spread over five campuses in Melbourne’s inner and outer eastern suburbs. It delivers over nine million student contact hours with more than 37,000 student enrolments annually. As part of a dual sector university, Swinburne TAFE offers its students the full range of study options, from short courses and apprenticeships to diplomas, associate degrees and graduate certificates.Louise has considerable senior management experience within tertiary education and training environments.  She has particular expertise in curriculum development and learning program design that embrace the principles and practices underpinning flexible learning.Louise is passionate about the role of education and training in facilitating lifelong learning and career pathways for individuals, and in contributing to the development of a civil society. Through her professional career she has developed a deep interest in, and commitment to, the opportunities which may be realised for individuals, industry/enterprises and the wider community, through intersectoral collaboration.
