Senior Executive Profiles

Jeffrey Smart was appointed Pro Vice-Chancellor (International and Recruitment) in June 2008.  He is responsible for Swinburne International and National Recruitment, International Partnerships and the International Study Centres.  He joined Swinburne in 2005 as the Director, Swinburne International, responsible for international recruitment, admissions, student support and education abroad.  In 2007 he became responsible for national recruitment.

Jeffrey Smart has worked in domestic and international marketing and recruitment for over 18 years, at the University of Melbourne and at Monash University prior to commencing at Swinburne.  At Monash he was responsible for international marketing and recruitment, 2000-2003, and was Director, University Marketing and Development, in 2004 and 2005.  In 2008 he was the Chair of the Victorian International Directors’ Committee.

Jeffrey has a BA (Hons) from Melbourne, majoring in History, and a Master of Arts in Communications and Media Studies from Monash University.
