University Governance - Administrative Approval Track

Proposals for administrative initiatives within the scope of a School, corporate Department or Division are made through the relevant line manager, where necessary in consultation with advisory committees or boards.

Proposals for major administrative initiatives or University-wide policies are prepared by the Head of the corporate Department that has oversight of the relevant function (e.g. Human Resources Department for HR matters, Finance Department for Finance matters).

They are then submitted for approval to the Executive Group (see Senior Management Page).

The Vice-Chancellor’s budget group meets two or three times a year to determine university-wide budget policy and allocations for the next, and later, years. Membership includes: the Vice-Chancell or, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, the Vice-Presidents, and the Deputy Vice-Chancellors in charge of the three Australian divisions.

Proposals for major developments of buildings and grounds are approved by Council’s Campus Planning and Building Committee.
