Dr Tony Whitefield is a lecturer in Accounting, teaching in both the undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Apart from his teaching responsibilities, he is a member of one of the university-wide Human Research Ethics Subcommittees. Since 2006, Dr Whitefield has been a member of the Scientific Committee for ICICTE, the International Conference on Information Communication Technologies in Education (www.icicte.com). He also is a guest editor for a special edition of the CWIS (Campus Wide Information Systems) journal which comes out of the ICICTE papers each year. He is currently supervising one PhD student.
In July 2011, he gained a 12 month Faculty of Business and Enterprise Learning and Teaching Innovation Grant to investigate the use of videos (through screen capture software) in the learning and teaching of accounting. In addition, he acts as an adviser and assists other faculty staff learn how to use the screen capture software in their units.
Apart from his academic and professional achievements, he holds a fourth-dan black belt in taekwondo and owns a house on a Greek Island.
Professional Work History
Dr Whitefield has had 31 years teaching experience in Australian secondary schools, and the higher education sectors, as well as considerable teaching experience in Vietnam and Malaysia at the post graduate and undergraduate level. He has previously held management positions in the Faculty of Business and Enterprise in a diverse array of portfolios and has been a member of the faculty executive and a member of various university-wide committees.
