About Treviso
Study
in Italy - Università di
Treviso
Treviso, a delightful
little city in the Veneto region (north-east of Italy),
can certainly be considered a cradle of the Italian culture.
The area surrounding
Treviso, called Marca Trevigiana, was the birthplace of
famous artists like Giorgione, Antonio Canova and the well
known architect Palladio who designed most of the beautiful
villas around Treviso.

Over the last
twenty years many small firms have been established in
Veneto and these, together with some of the larger firms,
such as Benetton, have made this region one of the wealthiest
and most economically developed in Italy.
In October 2001
Swinburne University signed an Agreement of Cooperation
with the newly established Università in Treviso, which
is an independent campus of the Venezia University
Ca' Foscari.
In June 2002 the
very first group of second and third year students of Italian
and European Studies went to Treviso where they undertook
courses in Italian and Business studies, which greatly
improved their knowledge of the Italian language and culture.
The Agreement
between Treviso University and Swinburne University will
also enable visits from Treviso lecturers to Swinburne
and vice-versa. Professor Ferruccio Bresolin, lecturer in
Economics at the Treviso University has already visited
Swinburne University more than once, offering seminars
on the European integration.
