Gracia Diep - Swinburne Industry Solutions & Visy Industries

I had the incredible opportunity to undertake a 12 month IBL placement with the commercial sector of Swinburne called Swinburne Industry Solutions (SIS). Through this placement, I was exposed to the training and development aspect of Human Resource Management and also learnt the various skills and responsibilities that coincide with project management.

To begin with I worked solely on a training project with Visy Industries. Later on SIS gave me the opportunity to further my skills by giving me other training projects to manage also.

By working with Visy, I was also able to experience and see the contrast between different organisational cultures as well as gain essential client liaison and communication skills.

Overall I found IBL to be a valuable and enjoyable experience with both Visy and SIS. I have gained so many different skills and a wider knowledge of Human Resources that will aid me in successfully completing my studies and also give me a competitive edge over other graduates.
