Master of Business (Human Resource Management) Profiles
Maria Gonzales - Graduate
Independent Consultant
Self Employed
I chose Swinburne because the structure of the Master of Business (HRM) program effectively coupled business orientation and a practical link to industry. The program offers good information and promotion of the programs overseas as well as prompt responses to both current and prospective students. Swinburne also offers good facilities and support for international students incorporating a diversity of cultures and ideologies.
I chose this program because I already have a Bachelor of Business Management and wished to further develop my career in the area of Human Resources. I found particularly that the Swinburne Master of Business (HRM) program was very applicable to my area of expertise and found the HR Consultant subjects especially interesting and helpful.
I would say that the most important benefit of my experience would be the practical link with industry that the program has. I also found the applicability of the program to the day to day business environment very beneficial. As said, I found the program's HR Consultant subjects very helpful to understand and develop my consulting abilities.
Recently I obtained some projects as an independent consultant and have applied this knowledge which has been a key factor in my success. Also the program helped me gain a deeper understanding of the role of HR in an organisation, such as internal consultancy and its strategic components.
