Recognising previous study
When you apply to study at Swinburne University of Technology, we give you credit for the knowledge you bring with you.
If you've studied previously, you may be eligible to receive credit and enter a course with advanced standing. Receiving credit will reduce the number of units you need to complete in your course. Credits are based on what you have studied in the past and how relevant that experience is to your new Swinburne course.
You can follow Swinburne’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process or transfer credits directly from another course. Discuss your circumstances with us now by calling 1800 633 560.
Recognition of Prior Learning
If you have study experience that is relevant to a course you are undertaking, it may be credited towards your qualification if you apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Our RPL program takes into account your existing knowledge and experience and measures it against the qualification you enrol in. Eligibility for RPL is assessed on a case-by-case basis – contact us for an assessment. You will be asked to provide evidence of your prior studies, such as an academic transcript or certificate of results.
You may be eligible to transfer credits from previous study directly to your course at Swinburne. The amount of credit you'll receive is based on the type of study you've completed, how many units you've completed and the relevance to the course at Swinburne you're applying for.
The credit you may be eligible to receive is based on your individual situation. Discuss your circumstances with us now by calling 1800 633 560.
