Biography

Patrick Doran is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Transformative Innovation at Swinburne University of Technology. He holds a B. Commerce (Honours) and M. Economics (First Class) from the University of Melbourne. He is experienced in applied policy relevant economic analysis. Major research undertaken to date include: a detailed analysis of the impact of price competition in the Victorian retail electricity market (Victorian Essential Services Commission); an overview of international and national liveability indexes and their application to metropolitan and regional Victoria (Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet). His research interests include inventor migration, data visualisation, research networks and the translation of basic science to applied technology.
