Swinburne alumna wins Emmy
Swinburne alumna Kylie Matulick has won a 2009 Emmy award for ‘Most Outstanding TV Commercial’ in the USA market.
Along with her business partner Todd Mueller, Matulick was awarded the Emmy for her role as art director on the animated Coca Cola commercial ‘Heist’.
‘Heist’ tells the tale of some adventurous insects that are determined to get a taste of the soft drink. Its cast includes animated lady bugs, grasshoppers and a group of resourceful dragonflies.
Matulick moved from Melbourne to New York more than 12 years ago after graduating from a graphic design degree at Swinburne.
She was a founding partner in multimedia design firm Psyop which has carved out a niche as one of the country’s leading animation studios for TV commercials.
This is the second year in a row that Psyop has been nominated for an Emmy. In 2008 the firm was nominated for its ‘Happiness Factory' ad, also produced for client Coca Cola.
Psyop has had advertisements screened during the Super Bowl for the past five years; a timeslot that is widely recognised as the most prestigious in the USA advertising calendar.
