Social Bookmarking using Delicious
What is it?
Social Bookmarking is the ability for users with common interests to discover and share bookmarks via the internet. A user is able to store and retrieve bookmarks from any web connected computer.
Delicious is a website that facilitates the creation of online bookmarks
How can I use it?
- An academic can bookmark a useful website and with no additional effort it can become available for his/her students in any number of linked Blackboard subjects.
- Students can collectively bookmark online resources for each other to discover
- Online resources can be categorised and be displayed in Blackboard as a map of keywords. These keywords are links to the resources.
Examples
Nanette Carter in the Faculty of Design uses a Delicious Tag cloud in her Blackboard subject so students can easily find new resources based on keywords/tags which Nanette has bookmarked.
