Online standards
The Australian W3C Office has undertaken extensive research into accessibility issues. The W3C has published standards based on Priorities which are checkpoints for accessibility and Conformance , which is a measure of compliance with the priority levels.
The "accessibility" of a web site is measured by how easy it is to access, read and understand its content by as many people and browsing devices as possible.
Key factors are the choice of appropriate method and means of presentation, compliance with standards, fast loading, and logical organisation. To avoid loss of page content when a browser can't understand or display an attribute, good accessibility requires provision of an alternative message for those students who can't see those elements or have turned them off.
