Tools for academics

Academics who have developed content-based websites can use 'checking tools' to validate, verify or evaluate that their HTML content meets required accessibility standards. NB. These tools can only verify - NOT make - your content.

Bobby and Wave are two suggested checking tools.

Any web pages that are linked from within Blackboard should be tested for conformance . Not all linked pages will achieve even a minimum level of Conformance (Level A). In such cases, an alternative link should be provided, if possible, or an alternative source of the same or similar information.

A more complete list of checking tools and their application can be found at the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
