Fast Track Over Winter
For four weeks during Winter Term a group of students will have the opportunity to fast track their degrees by studying an elective at Swinburne's Sarawak campus in Malaysia.
Swinburne has an exciting opportunity for students to study one elective during Winter Term. This is a 4-week overseas program giving you the chance to fast-track your degree on HECS, undertake an electives plus sequence, as well as experience the amazing destination of Kuching, Malaysia, home of Swinburne's Sarawak campus.
The group of students, accompanied by a Swinburne Australia staff member, will not only gain career-oriented skills, but also develop independence and make new friends.
What is Electives Plus?
Electives Plus is an initiative aimed at integrating career skills development into the undergraduate curriculum.
Electives Plus sequences are available in all degree programs with the exception of double degrees, specialist double major degrees, and where entry has been approved with advanced standing.

Program Fees in 2011
24 students will be awarded scholarships of $1000
Land-only program costs: $1500
Package price includes:
- On-campus accommodation in Sarawak
- Sightseeing tours in Kuching and a weekend away
- Travel insurance - through a Swinburne policy
- Students will need to make their own air travel arrangements to and from Kuching.

This scholarship of $1000 should cover your spending money for the 4 week duration of the program.

Situated on the island of Borneo, Sarawak is Malaysia's largest state. With 29 ethnic groups speaking 45 languages and dialects, it is also Malaysia's most diverse state.
The friendliness and hospitality of its people is well known. Its national parks, such as Mulu and Bako, are renowned for their beautiful natural wonders. Its rainforest, among the oldest on the planet, accommodates the world's most diverse ecosystem.
Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, offers entertainment to suit most tastes and eating out is a favourite pastime among city folk. Restaurants offer a variety of traditional Chinese, Indian and Malay cuisines, while more contemporary Japanese and Western-style eateries are also available.

About Our Campus
The Sarawak Campus is Swinburne's only international campus.
Established in the city of Kuching in 2000, the campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and offers undergraduate degrees in Engineering, Business, IT and Multimedia, as well as postgraduate research programs.
The campus is only 15 minutes from the city centre.
