It's on again in 2009!

For four weeks during Winter Term a lucky group of students will have the opportunity to fast track their degrees by studying an elective at Swinburne's Sarawak campus in Malaysia.

Swinburne is offering up to 21 x $1000 Sarawak scholarships!

Swinburne has an exciting opportunity for students to study one elective during Winter Term. This is a 4 week overseas program giving you the chance to fast-track your degree on HECS, undertake an electives plus sequence, as well as experience the amazing destination of Kuching, Malaysia, home of Swinburne's Sarawak campus.

The group of students, accompanied by a Swinburne Australia staff member, will not only gain career-oriented skills, but also develop independence and make new friends.

What is Electives Plus?

Electives Plus is an initiative aimed at integrating career skills development into the undergraduate curriculum.

Electives Plus sequences are available in all degree programs with the exception of double degrees, specialist double major degrees, and where entry has been approved with advanced standing.

Program Fees

Program fees will be approximately $2800. Package price includes:

  • Return economy airfare: Melbourne/Kuching/Melbourne
  • On-campus accommodation in Sarawak
  • Sightseeing tours in Kuching and weekend away
  • Travel insurance

Students pay HECS-HELP tuition fees for the unit taken (or up-front tuition fees for International or non-Commonwealth supported students). All Commonwealth supported students can study Winter Term units on HECS-HELP - no up-front fees.

Please note that passport costs, meals, personal spending money, public transport, books and study material, are not included. Fee subject to change.

Sarawak

Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus is the only international branch campus of Swinburne, Australia. Established in the city of Kuching in 2000, the campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, offers undergraduate degrees in Engineering, Business, IT and Multimedia, as well as postgraduate research programs.

The campus is only 15 minutes from the city centre.
