Overseas Work Experience

To prepare yourself for the global workforce, you may wish to consider undertaking some form of international work experience during your studies. Working abroad is an opportunity for students to not only put their academic knowledge to practice, but to gain an international perspective on their chosen industry.

Students can source placements with international organisations, enhancing international industry networks and acquiring crucial contacts who may be able to provide post-graduation opportunities.

Eligible students can access international work experience through programs such as:

International Industry-Based Learning (IBL)

IBLIndustry-Based Learning is a program for students at an undergraduate level, offering the opportunity to undertake a full-time paid placement in an industry of their chosen profession for a duration of 6 to 12 months.

This program offers the chance to gain practical experience, put theories into practice, learn about the industry and give students a head start in their career.

While most IBL placements are in Australia, there are some limited international opportunities available.

Students should discuss sourcing an international IBL placement with their IBL office.
