Adnan Islam, Swinburne Council

Adnan Islam is a third year undergraduate student. He studies a Bachelor of Business Information Systems (Business Analysis) and a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) at Swinburne University of Technology. After finishing high school in Bangladesh, Adnan successfully completed a Unilink Diploma of Information Technology at Swinburne College (mid-2014). He started a double bachelor at Swinburne University in late-2014.

Adnan has been involved with several leadership, student representation and volunteering activities at Swinburne and outside of Swinburne since late-2014. Currently, he is an elected Student Board Member (International) of the Swinburne Student Amenities Association (SSAA) Ltd and Deputy Chair of the Swinburne Student Representative Council (SRC). He is also a team member of the Finance and Sponsorship Team with the Centre for Student Leadership (CSL) program. Adnan is a Committee Member on the Activities Advisory Committee (AAC) at Swinburne. He has been privileged with the opportunity of being one of three student ambassadors of CPA Australia from Swinburne University.

In 2015, Adnan was an elected undergraduate student representative of the Faculty of Business and Law and secretary of the Swinburne Student Representative Council (SRC). He has been involved with club activities and committees, including being the secretary of the Swinburne Explorers Club last year and treasurer this year.

Adnan expects to graduate by the end of 2017. He plans to continue his involvement with the University Council, SRC, SSAA Board and other committees and activities to contribute towards Swinburne and the broader community and to nurture his leadership, student representation and volunteering skills.
